Today we shared the summer holiday home learning projects. There was an amazing array of research, art work, models, power points, acrostics, posters and even some stamps. We enjoyed sharing some of Churchill’s most memorable quotes, deciding he was a very humorous, quick-witted man as well as an inspirational leader.

Included in our detailed research was:
-Churchill was captured in South Africa and escaped from a prisoner of war camp.
-Winston was an MP for more than 60 years, holding the post of Prime minister twice.
-Despite facing many defeats as Lord Admiral of the Navy in World War One, he was determined to have a successful military career.

One of the inspiring quotes attributed to Churchill is:

“Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak; courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen.”

This work will be on display in the Year 6 corridor and in our classroom: please come and visit.
